So on Tuesday, the day after the test.. when we all thought algebra was over.. here comes analytic geometry ! At the beginning of class we were told how our tests went and Mr p said they were not that great.. I think he said the jasdeep got the best score 49/50!

After we talking about that we got our new booklets called Analytic Geometry, they are a bright yellow colour. I didnt get one at first.. and Mr p said here you can have the one with the answers.. but it didnt have answers !

So when we started the analyic geometry it was hard but afterwards it felt like it was kind of easy .. heres an example :

For the equation x2 + 8x +12y+35=0 Find the centre and the radius

Centre :

Move the 35 - x2+8x+12y= - 35
Half and square 8 and 12
Group - (x2-8x+16) + (y2+12y+36) = - 35 + 36 + 16
Factor and add - (x-4)² + (x+6)² = 17
The Center is @ (4, -6)

Radius:

(x-4)² + (x+6)² = 17
r² = 17
r = √17

Thats it ! its all about getting the equation of a circle !
